This January transfer window proves to be a period of significant rumour and possible big-money deals. Numerous high-profile footballers are being connected to transfers away from their current teams. We examine some of the key figures who are poised to be on the move this month.

Antoine Semenyo

Although Ghana's inability to reach the AFCON, this has left the forward in contention, indications are a significant move is imminent. This 25-year-old has a deal with a £65 million release clause active for a two-week window in early January. Recent developments indicate the Premier League champions have emerged as his services. Former suitors such as Tottenham and Chelsea are said to have turned their attention to alternative options, potentially opening the door for teams such as Liverpool or Manchester United to make a last-minute move.

M. Guéhi

The English defender has continued to excel for Crystal Palace despite a previous transfer to Liverpool collapsing. With his deal due to expire in the close season, January is the London club's last opportunity to obtain a transfer fee for their captain. A host of top clubs, including Manchester City and multiple continental powerhouses like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, reportedly be interested. However, a January departure remains unlikely, especially given the coach's reliance on the player.

Brennan Johnson

The Wales forward has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Spurs this term. Despite being the side's leading goalscorer the previous campaign, Johnson has begun only a small number of Premier League matches. Reports suggest the North London outfit would be willing to consider a sale for the correct valuation, thought to be in the region of £40 million. The Cherries appear to be leading the chase, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also credited with an interest.

R. Neves

This Portugal playmaker might be set for a comeback to the English top flight after a spell in the Saudi Pro League. Additionally, there are rumours from Spanish media that he would be prepared to accept a reduced salary for a move to Real Madrid.

This veteran German shot-stopper finds himself as third-choice at Barça following the coach Flick. After fallen out of favour and undergone surgery, a winter departure seems increasingly probable. Aston Villa were initially linked as a potential destination, but that option currently seems off. Instead, clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are reportedly expressing interest in the 33-year-old.
